I fail to understand the compulsion to publicly dis an event like this. Seems to happen consistently with this and a few other annual shindigs that are (1) put on through massive deployments of volunteer time and energy combined with generous support from the business community, and (2) raise substantial funds that go directly to worthy causes in the community. Don’t want to go? Fine. Why the irresistible urge to sneer out loud?
I didn’t “dis” the event. I just said I’d pass on it this year. To each his own.
