Sneak Preview of Decatur’s Makerspace!
Decatur residents are invited to explore the future home of Decatur Makers this Wednesday, June 18 at 8 p.m. (in the old gym at First Christian Church of Decatur, across from the post office).The all-ages “makerspace” is slated to open later this summer. Imagine a wood shop, metal shop, computer lab, electronics shop, arts and crafts and more all under one roof, with equipment and expertise to help explore and build interesting things.
Wednesday’s sneak preview / open house will feature maker demonstrations, a preview of renovation plans and more about memberships and other news.
A pre-event mingle will be held at Marlay House Pub starting at 6 p.m., with part of food and drink proceeds benefitting the not-for-profit Decatur Makers.
