Decatur Police: Multiple Vehicles Forcibly Entered on Chevelle Lane

On 04-10-14 at approximately 5:30 am, Decatur Police responded to the 500 block of Chevelle Lane in reference to an entering auto. The victim reported his vehicle had been entered during the overnight hours. Officers canvassed the area and located a total of seven vehicles that had been forcibly entered by breaking a window. A small amount of cash was stolen from one vehicle. No other items were reported stolen. Some vehicles were parked on the street and some were parked in driveways.

  1. I don’t blame the Decatur PD because it’s impossible to foresee this stuff and they seem to have their hands full. This has become an uncomfortable, regular occurrence, though. Sign up on nation of neighbors to receive all of the details.

  2. Not related to this specific incident, but I saw a news story about how robbing crews in Douglasville were targeting vehicles at parks, athletic fields, etc. where doors were often left unlocked and purses and other belongings left visible inside the car. Just a heads up.
