That’s great! I hope those chickens made it back home!!
Looks like they are playing chicken.
But why?
Ahhh, I was wondering where they went off to. I wasn’t fast enough when making breakfast this morning…
So why DID the chicken cross the street?
To slow down the traffic on Willow Lane, of course.
Actually, I think that’s brilliant – much better than the speed bumps/launching pads.
Chickens only cost $1 each, so the cost is minimal, and if people know there will be livestock in their cut-through of choice, they may be more conscious of their speed.
And they’ll literally work for chicken feed.
On the paradise island of Zanzibar, where chickens are truly “free range”, a local told me that, like dogs, chickens like to explore the neighborhood, but they always cross the road to find their way home at dusk.
To show the armadillo how it’s done.
I once stopped here and returned a chicken in the street over the fence to it’s safe place, only to have her squeeze under and chase me back to my car. Made my day!
Is Decatur becoming the new Fitzgerald, GA; where chickens run wild and free all about town?
We have several sets of chickens in the neighborhood over in the North 40 of Decatur. The more colorful pack is usually on the other end of willow right at Superior — at least 1 group lives right around there…
