Small, tan and white dog found on Mimosa Drive in the Winnona Park neighborhood wearing a gray Thundervest. Recently groomed and very approachable. Approximately 12 pounds. Call Wally & Trudy at if this is your dog or you might know who he belongs to.

  1. Chester has been reunited with his family after an unscheduled play date a block and a half from his home. Thanks to the neighbors who saw the alert and helped facilitate. Decatur is a great place to be a dog.

  2. That is a beautiful pup. The real Nelliebelle, my near-17 year old baby, is very close to the end. She had seizures today and her kidneys seem to be failing. I was just coming on here hoping for some good news about another doggie.

    1. Oh, no…hugs, Chica. I know you gave her a wonderful life, and I’m sure she knows it, too.

    1. I never knew such a thing existed. My girl is only 8 now, but we had some incredibly traumatic experiences with our 13 year old a few years back. We really should have sent her to heaven much sooner, and her last day wound up carrying her to an emergency hospital instead her vet because it was too much to let her suffer a day longer. Losing a pet is so painful.

      Hang in there NB

    2. I cannot say enough about Lap of Love. Dr. McVety was an absolute godsend in December when we lost our almost 14 year-old lab. Not only do they come to your house for the final appointment, avoiding having the added stress of taking your baby to the vet, but they also can help with the determination about when it’s really time. They also take care of everything for you afterward, including cremation and notification of your regular vet if necessary. My sweet girl was able to pass peacefully at home in my arms.

Nelliebelle, prayers to you and your pup.

      1. Thank you guys. I am calling them tomorrow. My husband can’t let go and I am not fighting him hard. We need some help!

        1. nelliebelle, my heart hurts for you and what you and your husband are feeling now. Cling tight to your precious memories of your sweet nelliebelle pup skedaddling down the sidewalk and basking on her bed in her sunny spot in the yard. And know for certain how much she’s felt your love and loved being a member of your family.

        2. My sincere sympathies. Very difficult time for you I’m sure. The old tale of the rainbow bridge is the only thing that made it bearable when we had to take our Mikey to his final vet visit. I’m actually tearing up right now and it’s been almost 2 years. Try to remember all the wonderful times you had with her, tell her you love her and will never forget her and send her off with a hug and kiss. She’ll know you’re there for her and that it will be OK.

  3. I so much appreciate that people go through such lengths to reunite pets with their families.
Thanks to Wally and so many citizens like him.
