Leon’s and No. 246 Featured in A.C.O.D. Trailer
Decatur Metro | August 23, 2013
You all may recall the movie A.C.O.D. (aka “Adult Children of Divorce”) filming in Decatur a while back.
I recall reading it had trouble gaining a distributor, but it’s now finally about to be released and if the trailer is any indication, there should be a good bit of Decatur featured as the backdrop.

Wow. How was I not in this movie?
It looks like half the movie was filmed in Piedmont Park, 246 and Leon’s.
Looks funny too.
Ooooooh, It’s “A.C.O.D.”, and not “A C(ity).O(f).D(ecatur)” movie. I was hoping it would be “A C.O.D.” movie so that we could bitch and complain when someone outside of “Decatur” gave it a bad review.

There’s a reason we don’t have a movie theater in the 30030, son.
Ah, see, I read it as “About City of Decatur”. Silly me.
Family Dollar parking lot also briefly appears in the ‘Jayne Mansfield’s Car’ trailer — I’m not sure if that has been mentioned here previously:

Just caught this movie and really enjoyed it. I know it’s hard to believe that a contemporary Hollywood movie could lack fast editing, paper thin characters, stuff blowing up, and pulsating soundtrack but apparently it’s possible. Very loosely defined arc overall, with no tidy ending, but really layered character arcs and great performances by Billy Bob, Duvall and others.
Wasn’t the hospital scene in Jayne Mansfield’s Car filmed at the Solarium? My wife and I enjoyed the film, although I thought it was a bit long and was running out of steam towards the end. I enjoyed seeing a few friends’ names in the credits. And who’d have thought that Ron White could act? It’s encouraging these days that films like that can find financing.
Another question about Jayne Manfield’s Car: was that Tippi Hedren as Naomi’s corpse a la William Hurt in The Big Chill?
You mean a la Kevin Costner?
Yeah. Duh.
i watched this trailer last week when someone posted it in FFAF- loved seeing the big part Decatur played in the highlighted scenes. Was the Jane Lynch/Adam Scott scene in front of Leon’s one of those filmed at night but lit like day? Would’ve loved to lurk in the background while that was going on!
I actually drove by while that scene was being filmed. It was morning if I recall correctly.
Does anyone know the *exact* table that seated Jessic Alba? I’m only asking for my wife because I think she’d like the lighting there. ; )
I did see a couple of shots of Leon’s, but weren’t most of the shots in that commercial from Table 1280 in Midtown?
(Sincerely, token postal-but-not-city-of-Decatur spoilsport.)
