Tree Down Across Ponce Near Clifton Road
Decatur Metro | June 20, 2013From the AJC…
A major route between Decatur and Atlanta was shut down by a fallen tree early Thursday.
The huge tree came crashing down onto Ponce de Leon Avenue near Clifton Road before 5 a.m.
All lanes of Ponce de Leon in both directions remained blocked at 7:30 a.m., and the state Department of Transportation was predicting it would be 10 a.m. before the road reopens.
One photo of the downed tree HERE.
The tree was down when I tried to go by at 5:40am.
wow! I was wondering why there was no traffic on Ponce/ Scott Blvd this am. So strange- I don’t think there was much wind this morning. Kinda scary.
Traffic awful around Clairemont/Scott/N. Decatur at 9:30-9:45 this morning. I’m imagining that it was east-west traffic that rerouted itself from Ponce to N. Decatur.
Patch says Ponce totally reopened at 9:30 AM. Figures I’d get stuck in the last of the traffic mess.
