Decatur Police Take One Burglary Suspect Into Custody, Looking for Another

On Sunday June 2nd, 2013 at approximately 1051 hours, Decatur Police responded to a burglary that just occurred in the 900 block of South Candler Street.   The victim observed the suspect in her home and confronted him with a wooden stick and the suspect fled.  The victim called 911 and was able to provide a description of the suspect.  Responding officers located the suspect in the area and a foot pursuit ensued.   Decatur and Atlanta Police set up a perimeter and the suspect was later located and taken into custody.   Property belonging to the victim  of the burglary was recovered from the suspect, identified at 17-year-old Antonio Bernard Harris of Dekalb County.   Harris was booked into the Dekalb County Jail and charged with burglary, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana less and an ounce and also held for a prior warrant issued by the Marta Police Department.   Harris has since been identified through physical evidence as the suspect in a burglary on East Pharr Road on May 20th, 2013 and additional charges are pending.  Investigators are looking at Harris for other similar incidents in the area.

Decatur Police have identified and obtained arrest warrants for Charles Ricardo Green for the April 10th, 2013 burglary of a residence on Hibernia Avenue.  Green was identified through physical evidence collected at the scene by investigators. Green is originally from the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area and appears to be transient with no ties to Georgia.  Green is a 42-year-old black male, 6’0 tall and approximately 175 pounds and known to wear eyeglasses.  If you recognize Green or have any information, please contact Sgt.   1. Not really a crime-related comment, but the photos above are a great illustration of how important it is to select the correct eyeglasses. The pair on the left look way better.
