It’s Literally Wednesday, 1984
Dave | June 12, 2013The Wall Street Journal, using Amazon data, notes that sales of at least one edition of the George Orwell classic increased 7,000% during the week. I’d write more about this, but … There was an excellent article in the New York Times a few weeks ago about efforts by some residents of Katha, Myanmar to preserve and restore Orwell’s residence when he was posted there as a member of the Imperial Police and from which he wrote his great Burmese Days. Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four were both published within five years of his death in 1950 at the young age of 46.

Thanks Dave. I think Decatur teachers and church staff members would greatly benefit from attending the Temple Grander event at Decatur First Baptist on the 19th. Thanks DFB for hosting. FYI- the life of Temple Grander was the subject of a well made movie two or three years ago. Very interesting movie and for parents of autistic children, it offered a great deal of hope and inspiration.
Way to go Decatur, that is a double-plus good line up of authors.
amazing work on the new edition! we removed ‘authors’ last week.
Grandin and Packer on the same night is just not fair.
Can you reserve a space at the Temple Grandin talk? I imagine this will be packed…
