Report: Souper Jenny Coming to Decatur
Decatur Metro | March 15, 2013Michael points to this tweet by ATL Restaurant Blog reporting that Souper Jenny is coming to Decatur…
Good news for Decatur: @souperjenny opens in your hood soon.
And then followed up with…
It will definitely be in Decatur but exact location has not been announced.
Oh happy day!!
The Ruby Tuesday store would make sense. That and the Carpe Diem spot are about the only available spaces for a restaurant in CoD, right?
What about the old Jakes/Little Shop of Stories/Samiches(?) space? Seems like a perfect spot to sell soup, etc. to the courthouse lunch crowd, as well as to the rest of us.
That would seem like a perfect spot if it’s available for the right price. And if not there, the old Fifth Earl spot next to Trackside would be great too.
The old Ruby Tuesdays location would be a great spot for it, but the square footage seems a bit much, no?
This is fabulous news.
I am with the Wizard of Omaha. That space is deserving of a restaurant we can all love and the space seems perfect for it…
the w00t is strong in this one.
I give them six months.
Just kidding. They’ll likely hit a grand slam. I just want to see how long the comment stays up.
New slogan for COD:
Decatur: No. More, Cooking. Ever.
Decatur: There’s a restaurant for that!
Great to hear they are coming to Decatur….we love this place and when in Buckhead always make a special trip to pick up from them.
woo-hoo!
I can now retire my crockpot. So excited about this!!
Sure sounds like great news. I’ve never been to the other Souper Jenny but based on everyone’s excitement I’ll be excited too.
Yeah! I am ready for this one. They will be a great addition.
Souper Jenny makes my semi-annual trip to my Buckhead dentist something to look forward to. I always reward myself with lunch after my visit and it makes it all better.
Soup! Soup! Soup! Soup! Soup!
One word: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I vote for Carpe Diem spot (patio enjoyment)…or old Jakes spot. I think Ruby Tuesday spot seems dark and I bet wouldn’t be as inviting. I would love to see something in 5th Earl spot but I worry that spot woudln’t have the volume that Souper Jenny would want.
I also think some of the falling apart buildings across from Depeaux could be a nice idea.
Hey, sfmaster, I also loved the patio of Carpe Diem. May be the nicest patio in Decatur.
I agree, the old Fifth Earl spot!
