Corrina’s Corner Pet Store Now Open on West College Avenue
Decatur Metro | December 4, 2012Ryan writes in with this report…
Thought I would send this bit of news along. I noticed a “Now Open” sign in front of the Corrina’s Corner pet store on West College and Mead. I popped in to check it out. It apparently opened today and the yoga studio next door is now open, too. This is the same yoga studio that was behind Avellinos.
Anyway, read on here that Corrina’s Corner would be a fresh dog food deli. There was a freezer with a lot of raw and cooked fresh dog and cat food. One product that sounded intriguing were these little plastic condiment containers of raw mix to pour on top of dry pet food. But I also noticed a rawhide bar with things like pig ears, bully sticks, bones, rawhides, etc. There were other types of dry dog food that I hadn’t seen before, but they were not traditional big bags of food. Lots of treats and health supplements. There were big 30-40lb bags of organic chicken feed for the backyard chicken people in the neighborhood. Leashes, collars, toys, etc. He had cat litter, catnip, cat toys. Lots of animal shampoos and grooming supplies. And in the back there was a self-service dog wash.
Worth checking out. My dog will like the rawhide bar and we might test the raw food supplement. And I have a couple neighbors and friends that will like the chicken feed!

Now what’s needed is an enterprising tween with a bicycle and a little cargo trailer, to start a n’hood delivery service for dog food & chicken feed.
Wow, is there really a want for that? I have a 15 y.o. trying to raise money for the DHS NYC Arts Dept. trip in April. Let’s talk!
I don’t know, it was just a thought. I personally have neither dogs nor chickens at the moment. But when I did have a dog and bought chow in 40-lb bags, I would have paid a kid a nominal fee to deliver it from a local shop esp if it saved me a car trip to PetSmart. I can see walking over there and making the purchase (along w/ a toy or treat) and arranging to have the big bag delivered later.
A hop & a skip from Homer Simpson Plaza, so stocking up for the pooches after stocking up at Ale Yeah will be a snap! Win-win!
What about the bar (not that dog food and yoga are not exciting)?
My dog says, “Mmmmmm, pigs ears and bully sticks.” My wife Marge says, “It’s good to have more businesses here in Decatur paying commercial taxes. Our taxes are way too high.” My son Bart says, “Man, forget the dog stuff. I can’t wait to try those high grav beers around the corner”
I say, “Corrina, Corrina, I love you sooooooo!!”
Who cares about over pampered pooches? When does the bar open?
Welcome to the neighborhood!

Dang, DM, I’ve heard about the raw food movement but uh, let us know how you like eating that.

That rawhide bar is going to draw a ruff crowd.
