Is that the same sculpture as the one on the square? If so, are you sure that’s not actually Portland? Or Asheville?
There’s also a little tiny version of this statue, about a foot high, in the lobby of the Loews Miami Beach hotel.
WTH? Next thing you know someone’s going to claim that they’re also Appalachian Trail mile markers or some such.
And just out of the frame of the camera, former Mayor Clint Eastwood is hectoring the hell out of the empty spot on the bench…
Great find! I’m heading there next week for the first time and will definitely check this out if I have time to go into town.
6th Ave and Lincoln.
Worldview: SHATTERED.
Next thing you know we will find out that the Thomas Jefferson statue exists elsewhere too.

I think there are 3 or 4 copies of Michelangelo’s David scattered around Florence too.
Looks like there’s a mirror-image version in Virginia.

My most favorite spot, Carmel-by-the-Sea….. If only I could win the lottery, then I could actually afford to live there instead of just visit!
Spent part of my honeymoon there in 1996, a fantastic spot!
Take a trip out there if you haven’t, hard to match the scenery and the surprisingly low-key vibe (at least 16 years ago it seemed low key…)
Ha. A Cheap knock off statue.
They are sure getting around, and not even sending postcards?!
Hah! You beat me to it.
All this time I thought it was only Indie-Catur.
*gasp* They’re a CHAIN!!!!
Quick, someone form an opposition coalition!
I want to see how many we can find.
Ok, THAT was funny.
The new Walmart will be selling plastic versions in their extensive garden section. Right next to that bigfoot sculpture from the skymall catalog.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: the Decatur of the Monterrey Peninsula.
Can we annex it?
Only if we can reconcile it with our strategic goal of cultivating more affordable housing!
Ha! One reason I left California was that, even with a terminal degree and good salary, I couldn’t afford a home as a single person. Marrying just to afford the mortgage seemed so retro….

I feel like we’ve been cheated on!
And really creepy, in whatever location!
I wonder what happened to the miniature version that was in the lobby of Decatur First Bank.
