Big thanks to Michael for the last two links this morning!
Thanks for posting the link to the Little Free Library article. I saw it last night and was wondering how long it had been there. Very cool concept.
This is so cool. It reminds me of suggestions on this blog a few years ago to have a book swap shelf somewhere downtown.
I walked past the library before it was unveiled several days ago… Was very curious what the tarp-covered structure was. NOW I KNOW!
After the cuts to the Dekalb library system, the two have about the same book budget. Who knows, the LFL might have fresher content.
For the Oakhurst peeps, there’s also a LFL on East Pharr near McDonough. I guess technically since it’s on the south side of East Pharr it may be in Atlanta rather than Decatur, but you could just stand in the street to browse, and never have to leave City Of.
Everyone stop by the Wilton Free Little Library soon – plenty of books to borrow. The box is already full !!!
I don’t get it. Other than the novelty, how is this fundamentally different from, oh, say, a library?
“Is that a poem in your pocket, or is that just a metaphor for how happy you are to see me?”
