Decatur Metro | April 13, 2012As mentioned in another thread yesterday, Renfroe is one of 44 middle schools nationwide to compete in the National Science Bowl in Washington D.C. at the end of April. According to a press release from the Dept. of Energy…
From Friday, April 27, through Monday, April 30, the 69 high school teams and 44 middle school teams will face off in the National Finals and will participate in a variety of activities, including the Lithium-Ion Battery-Powered Model Car Race for middle school students and hands-on science experiments for high school students. As champions of their regional science bowl competitions, each of the 113 teams are awarded all-expense paid trips to Washington, D.C.
Lakeside High School and Walton High School were the only other two Georgia schools to be chosen for the honor.
First music…now science…Renfroe has got it all! What an amazing school.
congrats Renfroe- we are all proud of you!
Thanks to Dr. Goode (RMS parent) who I believe coached the team. Apologies if I overlooked anyone else. Go ‘Fro!
“Fro”. My new favorite Decatur nickname!
Oooooh. I like ” ‘Fro”. Are the kids using it? If so, they’ll probably stop now that we like it.
Congrats ‘Fro-sters!
+1 for Dr Goode shout-out. He’s given a lot of time to the Academic Bowl teams, which are consistently competitive in metro Atlanta competitions.
This is cool. I may be a science nerd, but I didn’t get a chance to do this kind of stuff when I was a kid. I only hope my kid would like the idea when she’s old enough.
Nice!!
