Ate there last night with some friends, and we loved it. Started with toasts–the cannellini beans, ricotta, and the pork rillettes. YUM! We had the carbonara (fried egg was interesting–in a good way), garganelli (a bit too salty for my taste, but still good), margherita pizza, and oven roasted chicken. Dishes were great, service was outstanding. Loved the decor. Contrary to what some folks o Yelp say, I didn’t think the noise level was too bad at all.
The noise may depend on the day and time and on where you sit. We were there on a Saturday night around 9 and were seated near the bar, and it was packed to the gills. Seriously, we could not have a conversation. I have been to lots of “loud” places and don’t consider myself particularly sensitive, but it was really unpleasant. We finally just stopped trying to talk, which makes for an odd date night. Our food was amazing, but I didn’t even want to stay for dessert, which for me is saying something. I think all they need is a little bit of acoustic help. I really want to be able to go back.
I totally agree with DecaturKJ. I went on a fairly crowded night recently, sat near the front window, party of 3. We couldn’t hear our waiter when he told us the specials. Like DecaturKJ, we finally decided to just stop talking. No fun for a friend’s birthday. The food was very good and I would love to support a new restaurant in Decatur but I won’t go back until I hear the acoustics have been fixed.
No. 246= amazing!
My ears are bleeding just thinking about it.
Great addition to Decatur’s restaurant scene. Enjoyed everything I have ordered from here – great food and interior design.

Dear Decatur Restraurateurs,
High noise volume is a very fixable problem. Even Leon’s, which I adore, need not be an echo chamber. Call a pro.
Can’t wait to try 246.

Totally agree with everyone about the noise level. Needs acoustical fix bigtime but everything else is great!
