CSD Parents Note: Agnes Scott To Hold “Crisis Management Drill” on First Day of K-12 School
Decatur Metro | July 25, 2011 | 4:23 pmDecatur Police Deputy Chief Keith Lee was asked by Agnes Scott to forward this message to DM readers…
Agnes Scott College will conduct a crisis management drill on August 2, 2011 fro 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This drill will be led by Agnes Scott Police in conjunction with several other municipal and county agencies. There will be no road closures and there should be only minimal impact on the community. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Deputy Lee points out that August 2nd is also the first day of school for Decatur schools “and many of the safe routes to school pass thru or adjacent to Agnes Scott campus. Parents and students should not be alarmed by the presence of many public safety personnel.”
Really???????? C’mon ASC. I appreciate the need to prepare for crises, but it’s not like the CSD calendar is a big mystery to anyone.
After thinking about this for about 30 seconds more, maybe I actually like the idea of lots of cops around on the first day, given the “no road closures” and all.
Not good planning on ASC’s part. Reschedule the crisis drill. No reason to add anxiety to the first day of school.
My son suggests that we reschedule the start of school to later!
You’ve got a smart son! Incredible that school is starting August 2. Where did summer go?
So . . . poor planning of a crisis plan? This doesn’t bode well.
Is it weird that I work at ASC and this is the first I’m hearing of this?
