I speak fluent German, Pirate also (or “too”. My better half says that these terms are interchangeable). I learned Pirate from watching “Swift Family Robinson” and German from watching “The Great Escape”, “Stalig 17″, “Hogan’s Heros” and a few courses from GA. Perimeter (AKA “DeKalb College”) and GA State.
I’m glad to see that some adults find this WWI canon as interesting as I did as a child.
Erm, Mr. B, I believe you mean “Swiss Family Robinson”, don’t you? (If they’d been swift, they might not have got stuck on that island post-shipwreck…)
“I’m glad to see that some adults find this WWI canon as interesting as I did as a child.”
Definitely! She can’t keep her eyes off it! She’s practically glued to that cannon!
On ch 11 news last night, Brenda Wood claimed that this planking thing is somehow racist because it alludes to how the slaves were positioned in the ships when they were brought over to America. Did anyone else see this? I was left shaking my head, trying to understand where THAT came from… I thought it was just a yoga thing.
Hmmm. I had no idea what this practice was but Wikipedia claims it started in England, where it was called “lying down” and then spread; it’s supposed to be real big in Australia where the term “planking” arose. That doesn’t fit the claim that it’s about slaves coming to America. If anything, it would be about indentured servants going to Australia. If it planking IS a racist meme currently, then it’s had another evolution.
Please, DM. Don’t torture us with this nonsense.
Everyone should be made aware that “planking” is now as dangerous, it not more so, than crystal meth. God, please, save us all.
That’s staring down the barrel of meme addiction
What sort of adhesive was used?
Why hasn’t anyone planked Westchester?
They’re afraid someone will park on top of them.
As Oberst Klink sagen würde: “Ich weiß nichts. Ich weiß nichts!”
Nice German orthography! How’d you do it?

That Plancker is defying classical physics.
to the Max.
So, is Brad Steel saying “Better a planker than a wanker”???
@ Brad: lol
At a distance, the cannon is both loaded and unloaded.
spooky.
From the plaque underneath the gun:
” Desperate CSA defenders were forced to load their artillery pieces with unwary tourists when ammunition ran low.”
Just call me old fashioned but I still prefer streaking.
At my age and weight, it’s more smearing.

That’s a stretch
