Growlers Make Their Debut in Decatur This Evening
Decatur Metro | May 26, 2011A few days back, “writerchad” mentioned in passing that Ale Yeah! would begin selling growlers this Thursday. I checked in with Eddie at Ale Yeah! and he confirmed that was the plan, however he still had his fingers crossed that yesterday’s tap installation went smoothly.
Apparently it did, because he just wrote back…
We will be pouring growlers today at 6pm. Nick Purdy with Wild Heaven will be buying the first one and giving it away to a lucky customer!
TAP into Decatur!
Here’s the email that was sent out:
Ale Yeah! Newsletter Growler Edition, May 25th 2011
Many of you have asked and tomorrow our dreams come true as we here at Ale Yeah! will begin pouring growlers! We will have 8 taps of constantly rotating, delicious brews for you to take home and enjoy. The process will be simple- you can purchase an Ale Yeah! branded growler for $4.99 and choose a 64oz pour from one of our taps. As we remain loyal to our local roots, we will always have a Wild Heaven beer on tap and will dedicate another tap as a rotating selection of other local breweries’ beers. The first pour will be at 6pm sharp and will consist of the following flavors:
Wild Heaven Ode to Mercy- Imperial Brown Ale- $10.59
Terrapin Rye Squared- Imperial Pale Ale- $10.59
Reissdorf Kolsch- German Kolsch- $11.59
Rodenbach Grand Cru- Flemish Sour- $32.99
The Duck Rabbit Milk Stout- Sweet Stout- $7.99
Allagash White- Belgian Wit- $9.99
Peak King Crimson- Imperial Red- $10.99
Fuller’s Honeydew- Golden Ale- $11.99
See you tomorrow, or hopefully sometime this holiday weekend!

This will clearly boost my house’s WalkScore by several points.
same here. can’t complain a bit!
My husband shut down after I announced this to him last night. I finally told him to just go, go and get yourself a growler.
He did and the conversation resumed…
Thank you, Ale Yeah!
Got myself a Duck Rabbit and Peak growler last night. Looking forward to seeing what else comes available as each keg taps.
Does the growler have a shoulder strap? 64 OZ can be heavy to carry.
It might also look funny walking down college avenue with a big jug – kinda like the old cartoons where the jug has XXX on the side
had my first last night, filled will wild heaven.
growlericious!
great for sharing beer over a meal–refilling at the table as one would with a bottle of wine
Bought my first today (Jailhouse Slammer). Can’t wait to crack it open.
Already out of Wild Heaven tonight .
But the Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere I got instead is quite nice. Glad they’re doing this.
You think it’s going to be good.
Then it turns out far better than you imagined.
