Farm Burger Makes Another National “Best Burger” List
Decatur Metro | January 5, 2011Farm Burger, along with Buckhead’s Holeman & Finch, seem to be racking up the burger accolades this year. And not just around Atlanta.
The latest comes from the well-known “Serious Eats” blog, which places Farm Burger’s burger among the likes of national classics like California’s In-and-Out Burger. Here’s the Farm Burger write-up, from Serious Eats’ Atlanta corespondent…
Tucked away in a trendy Atlanta suburb, Farm Burger’s hook is their eco-friendly mentality: from locally-raised, grass-fed, antibiotic- and hormone-free cows to the garden-fresh veggies, all the way down to compostable containers. Yes, it’s a burger joint that locavores can feel good about, but there’s plenty for carnivores to sink their teeth into as well. Build your own burger from an impressive toppings roster or go with one of their Blackboard Burgers. I decided to work up a Number Six on ‘em (insert your favorite Blazing Saddles quote here): house-cured bacon, pepper jack cheese, salsa verde, and a sunny-side-up egg, all bookended by maybe the best bun I’ve ever had. I don’t know about that cow’s carbon footprint, but I can say it made for the best burger I ate this year.
Thanks to FMFats for pointing this out!
“Trendy Atlanta suburb”?!?!?
I hope that inaccurate location description is not an indication of the accuracy of their restaurant review. Of course I know it is not.
Yeah, I saw that too, Paula– made me snort with a combo of indignation/amusement…
Decatur’s wikipedia page calls us an “intown suburb”. A bit more appropriate, I suppose.

I take trendy as a compliment.
Farm Burger also got a significant write-up in this month’s Georgia Trend. Page 108, here: http://bit.ly/gdDkI2
I didn’t know you could use “trendy” and “suburb” in the same sentence, but I’ll take it!
hey,
never can get in there and we live around the block! stop spreading the “buzz!” it is frustrating to hear all the good things and get stymied at the door with a line and no seating!
If you want, you can place a to-go order at the right side of the counter. No waiting in line, and you can be in and out pretty quick. I also heard that you can phone in orders now, but can’t confirm.
Really? What time of day do you go? I usually stop in after 7:30p Mon-Thurs with little to no wait.
Tucked? I thought it was nestled.
I’m glad it’s being recognized. I don’t eat enough burgers to rank them, but I’ve enjoyed Farm Burger more with each visit.
It’s ok to hate me and shout “blasphemy !” – but has anyone ever compared Ted’s burger’s to Farmburger burgers? I have eaten burgers at both several times and prefer the taste of Ted’s. Anyone else feeling similarly ashamed?
I have eaten more than my fair share of burgers; just ask my waistline. I like the idea of Farm Burger, but I don’t like the execution. I’ve eaten there twice and both times I thought “meh.” I haven’t had a burger from Ted’s in a few years, but I remember them being good. Moreover, I have eaten various other burgers in the metro that are just better than FB. Ah well.
