Glendale Water Main Break
Decatur Metro | December 17, 2010 | 12:00 pmDaren reports there’s no water coming from the taps in the Glennwood Estates neighborhood and follows up with a note that reports that DeKalb County has hit a water main on Glendale Avenue.
The note goes on to say that the County hopes to have the water back on by the end of the day. No word yet on whether there will be a “boil water” alert imposed once the water’s running again.
After a disastrous attempt to tunnel under the railroad tracks at Trinity, where a water main was hit, the Decatur Diner tunneling operation drastically changed course to the northeast. Unfortunately, Mexico is the opposite direction and the latest mishap, another water line hit near Glendale Ave., further dampened the hopes of diners waiting for the grand opening of the diner.
On the bright side, Decatur Diner owners now have redundant water service lines directly to the coffee makers.
Two water mains in one week? What in the world is the county doing?
And by the way, the Decatur Diner jokes are getting a bit old.
Don’t worry, they will all stop once the diner opens.
That’s the best joke yet.
