Jaunt Salon Closes as “Ale Yeah!” Builds Out
Decatur Metro | December 7, 2010Jack writes in that he just noticed that Jaunt Salon along West College Ave has closed its doors, and jokingly suggests that the new craft beer market currently setting up shop next door, “Ale Yeah!“, might want to consider expanding and opening a microbrewery next door!
And speaking of Ale Yeah, has everyone checked out their preliminary beer list yet? Crickey!

Can’t wait for Ale Yeah to open, great addition to the nbhood – sweetwater festive, Brooklyn chocolate stout, Abita Purple Haze…
I hope their brewing supply prices are competitive, it’d be nice not to have to drive out to Marietta. Can’t wait to check them out.
Cleon – Weren’t you the leader of the Warriors back in the day?
Wow, goin’ old school with a Warriors reference! Loved that movie.
Very impressive. Glad to see Belgium is well-represented. Can’t wait to get some Orval and try a couple new Krieks.
No bigga deal but I can’t view the picture for this post on two different computers, mine and that at Cactus Car Wash.
PS: Have never been to Cactus Car Wash before and it’s pretty darn convenient if a little decadent. There’s even a fireplace with real wood!
PPS: Stopped at Mercantile for the first time on the way to Cactus Car Wash and the Tomato Orange soup is awesome. Mercantile seems like a Sawicki’s minus the meat and plus the wine.
Yeah, Twitpic is a pain in the butt about pics feeding through to blogs.
Can you see it now?
I had the same issue and yes, I can see it now. Thanks
I still can’t see it
I still can’t see it and I’m having some trouble with Decatur EdTV lately. I suspect that either our ancient computer, Fantasy Football, or operator error are to blame.
Nice list. I’ll go ahead and be Mr. PickyPants and point out that only two of GA’s 4 brewers are represented (Sweetwater & Terrapin). Hope to see Red Brick and Jailhouse on the list in the future.
Decatur continues it’s impressive list of destinations for beer lovers. “Beercatur: a city of barley, hops and drinkers of beer.”
Ale Yeah! opens at 11:00 today, Wednesday.
No way! Seriously? Sounds like a crisp Autumn stroll may be in order over lunch…
Awesome! As much as I actually enjoy shopping at Green’s, sometimes it’s nice not to have to even leave the neighborhood and encounter Ponce.
Yea! @karrass another shout out for the merantile.. try their baguettes and then stop for an ale ont he way home….
I heard first-hand that Avellinos is taking a hard look at expanding into the Jaunt space. Glad to hear they’re doing well enough to consider such an expansion.
More sit-down space inside would attract a lot more families to Avellinis. I think their pizza is great but we’ve sometimes had logistical problems eating there.
Is anyone else having trouble with the name, Ale Yeah? Instead of reading this as though it means “Beer, Hurray!”, I keep pronouncing it my head as a-lay yay-ah, as though it is a Biblical or Middle Eastern term like Yaweh or Al Queda or Allah or Ali. I think it’s because it’s not alliterative and one has to put a distinct pause between the “Ale” and the “Yeah”.
Say it with a southern drawl, and it’s: “Ay-yell, Ye-ah!”
Yep…its sounds to me like “Hell Yeah!”
Isn’t that what it’s supposed to sound like? That’s how I’ve been reading it too. Which means either I’m right or I’m actually a redneck in serious denial.
Duh, now I get it.
