Imaging the Atlanta Beltline
Decatur Metro | November 24, 2010The massiveness of the project and a decades-long timeline makes the Atlanta Beltline an awfully difficult project to envision. But this 2-part WSB report from back in August, which I JUST came across, does a pretty good job of putting the project in perspective if you haven’t seen it.
It’s obviously a bit dated at this point, many projects are further along than shown here, but it’s still a great overview if you’re interested in such city-altering planning projects.
Part 2 after the jump.
Anyone interested in the future of inside 285 neighborhoods should be a Beltline visionary! So much great potential to change Atlanta. Well, back to my turkey.
A friend sent me a brilliant 15 minute belt line summary from Ryan Gravel, the belt line founder. http://tedxatlanta.com/videos/09142010-resolve/ryan-gravel/
After viewing, I have decided I want to retire on the beltline!
If you watch “The Walking Dead,” you’ll have noticed that the flooded quarry that serves as a camp for the show’s survivors is the same one that is being converted into a Beltline park (and is featured in the WSB program).
