Paste Founder Nick Purdy Launches “Wild Heaven” Craft Brewery
Decatur Metro | September 9, 2010Looks like Decatur, Georgia is now home to a beer company! From Atlanta Beer Master…
Wild Heaven is their name – Belgians are their brew of choice. Nick Purdy, Paste Magazine founder has taken on Wild Heaven as his newest project.
Launch Beers:
Invocation – Belgian Golden Ale, 8.5% ABV. Sweet candi sugar nose, with a light malt body.
Ode To Mercy – Imperial Brown, 8.2% ABV. Brewed with a special blend of coffee from 1,000 faces in Athens, GA.
…These beers will arrive on tap handles in Decatur, Georgia starting next week. Brickstore Pub, & Cypress Street will be among the first to tap.
Awesome, where are they brewing?
Great move!
Oh beer, Holy beer. I’ll have the Transfiguration Stout please.
The name makes me happy
Anyone else catch the R.E.M. reference?
Bizackly!
I loved and supported Paste, and will thus support this new and appropriate endeavor in kind. Out of loyalty, of course.
Hey everyone, thanks for the kind comments about Wild Heaven. You can try it next Wednesday at many fine Decatur establishments (details to come next week). By the way, Paste isn’t gone – just the print is on hiatus. We’re working on the next chapter and the website continues publishing.
In the words of Paul Westerberg… “I can’t wait”
I’d heard the untimely cessation of the print version of PASTE had driven its founders to drink, but I didn’t think they meant it quite this way.
I have found all of these beers to be medicre, No surprise since Thomas Creek is brewing these beers. There really is nothing to these contract beers.
Suggest Leslie try the beers first, and stop painting with such a broad brush. I am very suspect of negative post even before tasting the product. Sounds kinda like jealousy or better yet agenda driven, in MY OPINION.. Be Happy!
When you say medicre, do you mean mediocre? And what specifically makes them mediocre? Some real feedback is appreciated.
hmmm, I really would like to try these out at some point, the imperial brown SOUNDS like it could be amazing, but only one way to find out. Tap only for right now?
@ Marshall suggest trying these beers. I have tried several recipes from this contract brew over the last several months. Nothing to be jealous of . The only thing appealing about this contract brew might be it’s regional.@ Planet Scott carbonation levels on the beers I’ve tried seem to be all over the place. I felt most of the beers were balanced but some of the sugars were wrong for Belgian style beers . Enjoyed a glass but still felt It was middle of the road.
