“Ale Yeah! Craft Beer Market” Opening on West College Ave.

On Twitter, TheseGiants alerts us that Ale Yeah! Craft Beer Market is coming to Decatur.  A quick check of Ale Yeah!’s Twitter feed confirms it.

Decatur… full circle we have indeed come. Lease signed at 906 W College Ave. How sweet, the sound. Deets to follow.

In case you’re wondering, that seems to be the address of the strip where Avellino’s and Isabella’s are located.

What is Ale Yeah! Craft Beer Market?  From their website…

Our mission is to provide to all residents of the Metro Atlanta area the wonders of the art of beer, the magic of a beverage not simply as a means to an end, rather a process of profound beauty that through innovation and creativity can be enjoyed with cuisines from all around the world or simply in a social setting with friends and loved ones.

We will showcase an abundance of American craft beer as well as varieties from around the world that exemplify liquid perfection. We will carry bombers and also give people the opportunity to “build-your-own” 6-pack. We will also offer fine cheeses, cured meats and chocolates that compliment the experience of a perfect pint.

Also of note from their Twitter and Facebook feeds, it sounded as if the original plan was to open in East Atlanta Village, but a “zoning snag” didn’t work out for one reason or another.  So instead they’re coming to Decatur.  An all too familiar story and one that benefits Decatur every time!

  1. Troll not sure try soft cheese and chocolate with beer . . . also not sure why refer to self in third person.

‘Profound beauty’ of craft brews and build your own sixies sounds tempting enough to treasure quality over quantity. Any chance the new PBR 1844 might be available?

  2. I literally could NOT be more excited. Walking distance from my house. Judging by the fantastically clever name, I’ll bet they carry some amazing beers. Life in Decatur might truly aren’t could get better 🙂

  3. This is ridiculously exciting news – and so close to my house! Almost makes up for that rumor about a Dollar General store coming to Oakhurst.

  4. Southsiiiiiide getting its beer snob on!!

(Yeah, I know the whole “______ getting its ______ on” is at least 5 years out of date. But this is really exciting news, so cut me some slack.)

  5. Love the idea of this place but I’m worried about the prices. Right now I get my craft beer fix at Green’s and the prices are fantastic. If Ale Yeah! can price their beer close to Green’s I’ll be there regularly.

  6. yay! i’m glad it’s in walking distance because parking in that strip can be a little packed sometimes.

  7. I’m just liking Gyrofly’s six-word description of Decatur: “might truly aren’t could get better” … maybe it will make the next fan.

  8. Am I the only one who would like to see something other than beer and bar food in Decatur? Don’t get me wrong, I love beer, and I realize there are more options than bar food, but we certainly have an abundance of the two….

    1. Children’s shoe store please, a broad variety like Coggins in Marietta and Roswell, or I’ll even accept upscale like Sprong in Buckhead as long as they have sales.

      1. Ditto, karass. Hate driving all over the world for shoes. Also hate shopping on line. I always try to measure, get the wrong size, and have to ship a bunch of stuff back.

          1. Throw in a latte and neck massage and the rest of Decatur can kiss my business good-bye!

    2. Not really. From what I can gather, this is a high-end package store, not a bar or restaurant. There are only a handful of package stores in-town, and most are decent at best. Greens is fantastic, but that’s a long drive. Something like this is sorely needed in this community and I think it will thrive.
