Pita Pit Opening in Old Quizno’s Space
Decatur Metro | August 25, 2010This is turning into the year of the sandwich for Decatur.
Demanda pointed out this Atlanta Business Chronicle article last week in Free-For-All Friday noting that Pita Pit was coming to Decatur, but we didn’t have a location.
Oakhurst Realty comes to the rescue again. They just sent me this tweet…
The Pita Pit to open in former Quiznos space – will be first location in metro Atlanta
Currently, Pita Pit only has Georgia stores in Valdosta, Savannah and Athens. It looks to be a nationwide chain.
Hold your horses. Here’s the link to their menu.
So I guess the old Quizno’s Plaza is now “Pit Plaza”?
A lovely addition to the Decatur food court, sorry, I mean square.
What’s up with Decatur Diner? Weren’t they supposed to open in June?
Perfect addition! I’ve been getting my Pita Pit fix whenever I return to Columbia. Now with the Pit and Jimmy John’s, I can relieve my undergrad days! So, I’m excited.
Meet you at the Pit brings back UNC memories (though not of sandwiches), and sounds shades of 90210…
There actually is a Pita Pit at UNC now, on Franklin.
Is this maybe a college thing? There’s one over in Athens too.
More like meet you at Time Out!
Bucket of Bones!
Great news, though I am still mourning 5th Earl…now that was a great sandwich.
The menu makes me hungry. Any idea on an opening date? I was wondering about the Diner myself the other day. Looks like everything came to a screeching halt.
I just followed up with one of the owners this morning. The last couple days it looks like they’re gearing up to finally open. We shall see.
THANK GOD! MORE FOOD….we don’t have enough here.
Mmmm. Felafel.
i know, we can send secretive snacks from the Pita Pit o the kids at Winnona ….
Thanks for the giggle, Cranky! I was just getting off my high-horse after commenting on that thread and your comment made me laugh at myself and that high-horse I so love.
You know….am I the only person who does not like pita anything?
Really, really, really fresh pita from an authentic ethnic bakery, e.g. an Armenian bakery (don’t know of one in Atlanta), is puffy, light, rich tasting, and fantastic. Unfortunately, most pita served in eating establishments or bought in a package is dry and tasteless. Don’t know what Pita Pit’s pita is like.
Bingo. This is truly a case where the super market version gives the real thing a very bad name. Nan, same thing. Not so much with the tortilla, though. The bagged versions aren’t great, but tolerable.
i’m fine with pitas but i don’t care much for pits.
I’m telling you, the Pita Pit is good. And that is a perfect spot for them.
