Early August Filming News

August 7, 2009 | 9:44 am

Whoever thought filming tax credits could provide so much joy?

The Decatur Minute, with it’s close proximity to all Decatur permits, gives word of Past Life filming around the intersection of Ponce and North Candler today.

Also, Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva is returning to film around the Square next Monday.

Haven’t recognized any I’d decatur yet, but in the first episode the “gateway to heaven” scene where she presses the angels return button — that was shot in John portman’s suntrust tower lobby.

Surprisingly good show. My wife says

Heard from friends that Decatur was very recognizable in the first episode. They use interiors and exteriors of the Old Courthouse and bits and pieces of the square. Mpnday’s filming is for the final episode and will include Ponce de Leon street scene shots and interior shots in Parker’s and Zucca. Guess we’ll have to wait and see if we recognize these shots when they finally make it to television

Brick Store is closed for lunch Monday due to filming… I forgot to ask which film but I assume it’s DDD. I guess the novelty has worn off for me ;)
