Yogurt Tap Coming To Old Houseworks Space on Church

June 20, 2009 | 1:36 pm

Ann writes in a comment…

The Yogurt Tap is coming to Church Street in the old Houseworks space. They hope to open by mid-July. It’s a self-serve frozen yogurt place… whatever that looks like! It sounds pretty good on this hot day, and I can assure you the merchants on Church are thrilled since that spot has been vacant since April 2008.

Sounds good although I also wonder about self serve! Given the name Yogurt TAP, maybe the frozen yogurt comes out of taps like at a soda fountain.

For regular ice cream, there’s…..Cafe Cliche. They were giving out free samples at Glenlake Pool today. They’ll be donating coffee monthly to Clairemont Elementary’s Friday coffee sales next year.

Yoforia is also coming down the street.

Yoforia is coming!??!?! Pinkberry-knockoff yofuria? I love that stuff. Where?

Wait. Wha?? Yoforia is coming? Is this true? When? Where? This could be a problem for me.

This is 100% true. My best friend is the owner and he told me Yoforia is coming. And it is also on Church Street.

What is this? 1995? Is fro-yo making a come back?

Yoforia isn’t fro-yo, DM. It’s happiness and rainbows in semi-solid form.

Typical….2 yogurt shops that will compete and one will likey die off. We go from none to more than one in a quick second. Same with sneakers. I wish the DDA and the landlords would use a formula to give our community variety in stores instead of the same thing. So many gift shops, women’s boutiques here…..there are a few shops that are different from all others and unique.

Don’t forget that Greene’s — also on Church — just recently began offering frozen yogurt.

This is really freaky. I’m starting to think it’s not fro-yo we’re dealing with here, but is in fact, THE STUFF.

          Ohhh…Here and there. =)

Actually, just got frustrated when you transitioned the site because I couldn’t seem to get my login to work. But now it works. So I’m here again. Now. Again.

I feel an inane fictional post about the Decatur City Commission and the growing influence of the yogurt lobby coming on.

I’m all for as many responsible, dedicated, enterprising souls as can to come in & try to make a go of their businesses in Decatur– but I must confess that the name “Yoghurt Tap” doesn’t make me think of fro-yo, it makes me think of, well, regular ol’ yoghurt coming in liquid form from a keg or something– not appetizing at all! (OK, maybe it’s just me, but still…not hatin’, just sayin’.)

A yogurt war in the city seems pretty cultured. Sure hope all this doesn’t go sour though, as it could end up being a pretty fruitful business!

Yes, but all the ingredients of the plan have to active–philus in when you can.

I hope Yoforia does come to Church street. I love that place. I’m from LA and had lots of Pinkberry. Yoforia is better and they even use organic milk and yogurt!!!
