Hmm…you went to a different time zone and there’s an ocean. And based on what the people are wearing, were you in AL or MS? I’d think TX would be too far.
The ship is the Kruzenshtern and I think it’s Bermuda.
Villa Rica?
No, really, before I read Len’s comment, I wondered if it was Dry Tortugas NP. Couldn’t remember if it is in the same time zone, though, and that water looks too deep. And a bunch of other different things. Is that a U.S. flag on that bunker?
Hi,
Is that Puerto Rico? If yes, did you go to the Bacardi factory?
Can I pretend that I don’t really know the answer and then guess? And what is the prize?
I’ll guess Nova Scotia
Maine
Puerto Rico.
I was going to guess Puerto Rico too, but they’re in the same time zone as us, right? Well, they’re Atlantic, but they don’t have daylight savings time?
Not that hard I guess! Len nailed it right out of the gate.
No prize, just bragging rights.
It could go something like this…
Friend of Len: “So, what’s new?”
Len: “Well, I totally guessed where DM went on his vacation.”
Friend of Len: “Wow, that’s um, wow.”
Len: “Yeah, I know. Pretty great huh?”
Wow. One of my friends was just in Bermuda.
Hey, I resemble that.
If I told you how I knew this you would REALLY mock me.
Congrats Len!
And for the record, I wasn’t mocking you…I was attempting to mock DM. I admit it was half-baked though.
Based on the fact that you knew the ship name, I’m gonna guess that you’re following the Tall Ships race rather closely.
Going to Charleston?
Unfortunately I can’t make it to Charleston. But I will be sailing on a schooner in Maine for a week in August.
pretty sure that is old san juan in puerto rico
Lake Lanier!!!
DM are you doing the sail training thing with tall ships? Nothing like going aloft in heavy weather to furl that top gallant after a few “dark and stormy’s”.
Ha! I wish David.
Guess I’ll just have to stick with the “Dark and Stormys” for the time-being.
BTW…the fort is Fort St. Catherine on the eastern tip of Bermuda, just outside of St. George…the second-oldest English settlement in the Western world…but the oldest still existing. (They’re still looking for those Jamestown folks.)
