Where's the Gas Atlanta?

September 24, 2008 | 8:42 am

At Parker’s request, here’s a thread where folks can post where they’ve seen available gas recently.

Obviously the closer the station is to Decatur, the higher the possibility of usefulness to readers.  However lots of folks commute elsewhere and many folks read DM but don’t live here, so any and all sightings are helpful.

A great idea.  I’m sure we could all benefit from a little teamwork during this current situation where its every man/woman for themselves.

Thanks in advance!

For those who work downtown: I filled up at the Shell Station at the corner of John Wesley Dobbs and Piedmont – $4.19/gallon for regular. My carpool also drove past the Chevron (?) at Ponce and Moreland/Briarcliff, which had regular for $4.23. Neither station had anything other than regular gas.

QT by North Dekalb had some this morning for $3.97 a gallon.

The Shell station at the corner of DeKalb Industrial and North Decatur Road had plenty of gas at noon, despite the long lines.

We called/drove to EVERYONE around Decatur that we could (both of us on E and have to leave at 7am for the airport!!!) and we finally found gas at the Citgo on Brockett Rd. for $4.19 for regular…ouch…

Chevron on N. Druid Hills and Quik Trip on Lawrenceville Hwy. both said they were expecting gas trucks tonight at some point.

    good luck!

husband found gas @ Quiktrip on Scott Blvd by the Saturn Dealership. Only had to wait behind 1 car. Also, there is gas at the station at intersection of N. Druid Hills and Lawrenceville Hwy.

I just saw long lines and people getting gas at both of the stations at the intersection of Clairemont and North Decatur Roads–by Publix.
    Thanks for this thread, DM.

Many folks have been using Twitter for the most updated gas info. Apparently AJC even finally had a piece on it (gotta love ‘em!).
