Greene's Fine Foods To Open in Old Post Office Building

August 28, 2008 | 6:25 pm

Finally!  A store sign in front of the old post office building indicates that it will be “Greene’s Fine Foods“.

The only other online info I can find on it is in the form of job postings like this one…

Looking for energetic and fun full and part time employees to work in a brand new retail Candy, Nut, and Gift store in Downtown Decatur. Please forward resume or send an email to tommy@greenefinefoods.com.

I hope Tommy meant to write “greenefinefood”, because he’s missing the ’s’ and the store’s website includes it.  If so, not my job apps are going to get thru.

Candy and gifts!  All the rumors seem to be true…though we had heard nothing about ‘fun’ previously. ;-)

Welcome to the ‘hood of neighbors, Greene’s!

Well, I wish any new business in our city the best. Their name confuses me though, with the “fine food”…then it is described as “Candy, Nuts, Gifts and Fun”…

Now I can always use some fun, but don’t think candy, nuts and gifts is gonna make me a repeat customer… we’ll see.

Thanks for the welcome to the neighborhood. We are looking forward to being a part of the Decatur community. We are looking for fun energetic people to join our team Please email me at info@greenesfinefoods.com for further information. I am not sure where the improper email address came from, but it is definitely Greene’s Fine Foods. We will be open soon and look forward to seeing everyone.

    Thanks!

    Tommy

They now have a bright and cheerful neon sign displaying this logo just east of the building. It appears that they are doing quite a bit of construction inside, however, so I would presume it’s still a few months from opening. Perhaps Tommy could provide more of an update on what all we’ll have to look forward to and when.
