State Stiffs Decatur For Over $1 Million

August 13, 2008 | 2:33 pm

…and surprisingly we will have to foot the bill!

What am I talking about? Well apparently due to the state’s budget shortfall, Sonny won’t be giving us back the funds handed over by the city to support the state’s “Homeowners Tax Relief Grant”. That means no HTRG relief on our second 2008 property tax bill. Which means expect a significant increase on your next bill, unless state Repubs and Dems convince the governor otherwise.

The mayor discusses it all (and tells you how much more he’ll be paying this year) over on his blog.

Bill, just do what our federal government does in the event of a shortfall: borrow the money from the Saudis.

Can’t we just raid Social Security surpluses? Congress does!

What if we ask each citizen to sponsor a tree in our city…we all love trees…say for $5 a tree….with all of our tree huggers, we could more than offset that amount! Left wing, will you choose the first tree? Send your $5 to: DECATUR CAN SAVE THE WORLD, 123 McKinney Parkway, GIVEITALLAWAY, GEORGIA
(BTW, this is meant in jest so no flaming please…):)

    Thanks Kurt. ;)

    Om.

Hopefully, being “enlightened” hasn’t obstructed your chi totally so that you
    can “lighten” up a little…

But just in case ( and since we are helping one another here in Decatur) her is an excerpt to ponder. I culled it from Jane Roberts’ THE NATURE OF PERSONAL REALITY”

Your beliefs act like a hypnotist, then. As long as the particular directions are given, so will your “automatic” experience conform. The one suggestion that can break through is this: “I create my reality, and the present is my point of power.”

    Om to all!
